SociABILITY – Celebrating International Day of People with Disability

During November and December, the Don't DIS my ABILITY campaign celebrates diversity and the ability of people with a disability. Events are held worldwide in conjunction with the United Nations International Day of People with Disability held on 3 December annually.

The theme for 2013 was 'Break Barriers, open doors: for an inclusive society for all.'

In 2013, the NSW Government and National Disability Services – Companion Card in partnership with Penrith City Council held our SociAbility event at the Penrith Panthers Leagues Club.

The event was an all-inclusive event, open to all. Individuals, groups and schools attended from regional Western Sydney. Individuals participated in activities such as face painting, drumming workshops, arts and crafts, temporary tattoos and much more.

Here at Companion Card we are looking forward to the planning of SociAbility 2014. Please contact us if you have any ideas on how we can make this year's event bigger and better!
